The laminated process can fully utilize the internal space of the battery, reducing the space waste caused by the corner curvature in the winding process. Under the same volume, the energy density of the laminated battery cell can be increased by approximately 5%, thereby extending the driving range.
More stable internal structure
The laminated battery cell has no uneven internal stress at the corners, and the expansion force of each layer is close, with a smooth interface. The internal structure is more stable. This reduces the risks of powder detachment and burrs on the electrode sheet, improving the battery safety.
Longer cycle life
The number of tabs on the laminated battery cell is twice that of the wound battery cell. The internal resistance is reduced by more than 10%, and the cycle life can be extended by approximately 10%. For example, the cycle life of BYD Blade Battery can reach more than 3,000 times.
